Commercial Property Maintenance in Aspen, CO
The famous Molly Gibson hotel on East Main St, in Aspen Colorado is getting an overhaul. With a complete teardown the hotel will be rebranded as The Mollie. It is a throwback to the legendary silver mine and previous hotel as before. The luxury boutique hotel is scheduled to accept reservations for the 2023 ski season, opening in December of 2023. The brand new lodging has been under construction since Autumn of 2022.

Modern hotel rooms means upgraded furnishings and decor. As any and every commercial or residential project goes, there are always last minute oversights that need to be corrected. Reaching the finish line without these is unheard of. The new luxury beds from Bryan Ashely furniture being installed were no exception to this Murphy’s Law. While there were absolutely no flaws with the beds themselves, there was an issue with the beds sitting flush with the wall.
The double and queen beds at the Molly Gibson will be cleated into the wall, along with other sound dampening measures. This required a perfectly flush fit against the wall. However, a small section of baseboard trim prevented the bed’s headboard supports from allowing this to happen. Rather than cut the baseboards, representatives from Bryan Ashely quality control decided it was best to notch a small piece from the support to custom fit the wall.
Here are a few photos, albeit not of very high resolution, of the bed posts after the small 4″x 1/2″ notches were cut into them. They fit perfectly against the wall and were easily secured to the wall cleats. Attention to detail and site clean up were just as important as making each cut.
